Rock n Roll Record Hop with Rockin 50’s Radio at Midland Band Social Club, 2 Hallwood Road, Kettering. Free entry with guest DJ’s, door open from 730pm

Monday 15th August
Nene Valley Organ & Keyboard club. Music for all tastes. We meet at the Plough Hotel, Function room, Bridge Street, Northampton NN1 1PD.  Doors open 7pm for 7.30pm; finish at 10pm. Free on-site parking. Bar available & raffle. Top musicians in concert and everyone welcome. Enjoy two hours of big band orchestral, show tunes, film music, ballads, jazz and popular easy listening favourites.  This month’s artist is Stuart Burr, playing  Korg Pa3x keyboard, with bagpipes, to Bond, The Worzels, Strauss and classic TV themes.

Fun Quiz evening at All Saints Church, William St, Kettering NN16 9RR. £2 each includes tea/coffee. Max 4 in a team. Bring your own drink and nibbles. Raffle. 7.30pm start.

Thursday 25th August
The Kettering Branch of the Royal Air Forces Association is hosting a talk by Matt Smith on “The First B-17 mission from Grafton Underwood”. Talk starts 7.30 pm at the Midland Band Club. This event is open to anyone who would like to attend; however, a £2-00 donation is requested to help cover the cost of the talk.

Tuesday 6th September
Barton Seagrave Horticultural Society the warm and friendly gardening club, new members and guests always welcome. Meeting at 2pm at the Community Centre, Pioneer Ave. Burton Latimer. Our speaker for the afternoon will be Alan Mason talking about “It’s a Gardener’s Life”. Raffle and refreshments. all enquiries to Maureen on 01536 723059.

Wednesday 7th September
The Addingtons Horticultural Society talk, 2pm (NB new time for this and future meetings) at The Memorial Hall, High St. Great Addington NN14 4BS (opposite the Church). We are privileged to welcome Mr Joe Whitehead, who will tell us all about his work as Head Gardener at Burghley House. Tea, coffee and biscuits available. Existing Members free. Plants for sale, wheelchair access. Refreshments at Briarwood: Home-made teas & light lunches dependent on covid restrictions. The Kettering Branch of the Royal Air Forces Association will be holding their monthly meeting at the Midland Band Club, at 7 pm. This event is open to anyone who has served in the Royal Air Force or the Royal Air Force Reserve/Auxiliary, or any individuals who have an interest in aviation, or who would like to help the charity.
